First arriving FireFighters found heavy smoke and flames emanating from the 1st floor of the 3 story building. the first arriving chief quickly asked for the 3rd and minutes later 4th and 5th alarms.
The weather played a major role in the spread of the fire. Wind gusts
in excess of 50mph fanned the fire and had companies patroling areas east
of the fire building for flying brands. Temps were hovering at 8 degrees
with the wind chill at -10 hampering FF's efforts to get water on the fire.
