An afternoon of buffing started out in Milwaukee at 78th and Appleton Avenue. A fire in the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall. Fire extended into the 2nd floor living quarters. A special call for 1 engine and 1 truck before the fire was placed under control. If you look close, you will see the new rig for MED 16. It was squad 5 today and goes into service as MED 16 tomorrow. As companies were picking up from that scene, a call for a house fire at 90th and Auer. Companies made quick work of a minor fire in the attic started by an overheated chimney. A drive north found the Mequon fire Department on the scene of a GMC motor home on fire. The Volunteers on the Mequon department made short work of this fire that started in the engine compartment and spread to the interior.
